Welcome to tox@box, a living archive of my work and experiences as a student, homelabber, and network engineer. This blog serves as a space to document technical labs, publish practical networking and security advice, and track my journey as I grow deeper into the world of network security engineering.

Whether you’re a fellow student, a new technician, or a lifelong learner, I hope you find something valuable here.

About tox@box

My name is Damon Hoody—a recent graduate of Twinsburg High School and Cuyahoga Valley Career Center’s Cisco Networking Academy. I’m a certified Cisco CCNA, 2025 BPA Nationals First Place Winner, and an aspiring network security engineer.

I built this blog to share what I learn as I go: notes from my labs, lessons from the field, exam prep strategies, and stories from real network deployments. This is not just a portfolio, but the visio topology of my growth.

You can learn more about me here.

Lab Writeups

Every network engineer needs a lab. Here you’ll find detailed documentation of my Layer 2 and Layer 3 security experiments, inter-VLAN routing topologies, switch hardening guides, DHCP and ARP attack prevention techniques, and more.

Each lab is built from scratch in either physical or virtual environments and reflects problems I’ve seen in production or studied for certification prep.

Explore recent labs here.

Technical Notes

My notes are where I consolidate what I study—protocol deep dives, configuration guides, exam prep tips, and engineering workflows. These posts are structured to be reference-grade, so that others can use them to prepare for exams like the CCNA or for their first junior network role.

See all notes and posts here.
